We thought we were goi be God's gift to Africa. Boy were we wrong!"

Where It All Started

After several years of running a small animal practice in Hays, Kansas, we felt "the call of God" to sell our clinic, house, cars, EVERYTHING, and move to Africa. Dragging along, screaming and kicking, a husband and 3 children ages 11,13, and 14, we made the journey to Kenya where we spent the next 19 years. Lest you be deceived by my profession, I did not spend those years doctoring exotic animals in the bush or even cattle. Plans change. The great need at that time was not for veterinarians. There were 60,000 children living on the street without clothing, food, or medical care.
